SRON manufactures spiral silos out of steel coil used for a variety of material storage requirements. Our steel silos provide water-tight and maintenance-free storage, free of contamination, rusting, or flaking.
The spiral silos manufactured in high-strength galvanised Z350 steel sheet, with possible over-coating (for areas with a corrosive environment, e.g. the sea, or for aesthetic reasons and environmental impact), and stainless steel (only in the welded version).
The seam version is used almost exclusively for storing grain products (cereals in particular) whereas the welded version is also used for tanks (such as sewage and sludge digesters of biogas plants or tanks for slurry in the ceramic industry).
When the calculation requires it, reinforcing uprights are inserted, generally internally, using a technique that does not require holes, does not affect the galvanising and does not hinder the output flow of the product.
In the cereals sector, the silo is normally equipped with ventilation channels and rotating screw to ensure final cleaning of the bottom; the roof is normally pre-painted galvanised sheet metal and can be in a sealed version equipped with valved anti-condensation roof units for cold or inert gas storage.
